Infertility Treatment (Female)
The first and easiest treatment is to optimize your chances of conceiving through timing intercourse when you are most fertile. This can be done by using your BBT charts, checking cervical mucus, and ovulation prediction kits. If the man's sperm count is normal, it is recommended you have intercourse every day the woman has wet cervical fluid up until the morning of the rise in temperature. If the man's sperm count is not normal and you have not conceived after a few cycles, it is recommended you have intercourse every other day during the fertile phase.
Another easy treatment is a change in diet. If you are either obese or too thin, it can interfere with your fertility. Work on being a healthy weight and that may be all you need to conceive.
If you would like to utilize natural methods before moving on to drug therapies, Traditional Chinese Medicine has been helpful to many women and may be worth a try.
Drug Therapies:
Drugs to stimulate ovulation. Doctors often prescribe Clomid to induce ovulation.
Drugs to Block Hormones. In the case of endometriosis these types of drugs can be used.
Drugs to Facilitate Conception and Support Pregnancy. Estrogen or progesterone are two drugs commonly prescribes in this category.
Surgeries: If you have polyps, scarring, or other obstructions, surgery can be performed to correct the problem.
Finally, instead of treating the infertility, you can bypass the problem with Assisted Reproductive Thechnologies.
Infertility Treatment (Male)
If the male fertility problem is low sperm count this can be corrected through fertility drugs like Clomid, HCG, and Pergonal. These drugs increase the sperm production.
If varicoceles, like a varicose vein in the scrotal sac, are the problem they can be surgically corrected with outpatient surgery. While this treatment does correct the varicocele, recent studies have shown it usually does little to improve fertility.
If damaged sperm ducts are the problem a minor operation can correct the sperm ducts. There is also the option to remove sperm straight from the epididymis and use the sperm with Assisted Reproductive Technologies.
